Whatever
It’s a word that seems to be taking front and center stage in my vocabulary as of late and I had a difficult time figuring out why until now. Because if there’s really any one word that essentially sums up life itself, it’s that one. That’s the thing about this crazy notion we refer to as existence: you can plan for as many contingencies as you can conceive but, at the end of the day, entropy will rear its ugly head.
And you can either fight it with every fiber of your being as you try to change the inevitable or you can roll with it and learn to adapt to a universe in which adaptation is pretty much essential to survival. That’s not to say planning is completely pointless but if you’re not willing to go with the flow, you’ll get washed out to sea, never to be seen or heard from again.
At the end of the day, just remember that everything you have (your residence, car, phone, etc.) is all tentative and (as a wise man once said) we’re all just driving the same car: it’s a car called life. So don’t be afraid to make the most of it and know that just because things didn’t go according to plan doesn’t mean the universe is against you. It just means you have to work a bit harder to ensure you achieve your desired outcome. And along the way, make sure to spread around that sense of kindness and determination. That way, when one of us comes out on top, we all do.
