The future of chucky boy
It feels weird that I haven’t yet had the chance to talk about this but anyone who knows me knows just how much I enjoy the child’s play franchise (albeit some films more than others). & now that season three is in the books & a renewal has yet to be confirmed, I thought we’d talk about where I want to see things go from here.
I do think they should have one more season to wrap things up but after that I say it’s time chucky boy comes back to the big screen. Don’t forget this is a franchise that originated on the silver screen & I think it’s high time he returns to cinemas, especially with other killer dolls now trying to come for his crown (annabelle, megan, brahms, etc. ) I mean obviously they can’t just end it now what with all those cliffhangers they’ve set up but once that’s all resolved, I think it’s high time we get a new chucky boy film in theaters (& in fact, don mancini has said he does intend to do that at some point).
As for plot lines, I think they really need to stop getting chucky boy & tiffany back together ad nauseam. I mean it’s the same old tired tope we’ve seen again & again & quite frankly, it’s gotten stale. I mean I like both characters separately but together they’re just toxic. Additionally, I think it’s about time we get back to the og’s. Sure, we did have andy boy & kyle pop up on occasion in the series but they never felt as important as they should be, especially andy boy considering he’s been playing the role since the very first film in 1988. & we didn’t even see them at all in the latest season. It’s nothing against the trio; I just really want to see our original main characters finally get a happy ending before we can even think about turning things over to our newer protagonists. & it’s long past time Nica finally got a win.
Finally, I think it’s about time they plan out some sort of an endgame for the franchise (if they haven’t already). I mean you know how much I love brad & the phenomenal performance he has been turning in for over 35 years now but the fact remains he’s not getting any younger. And I have zero interest in seeing anyone else (especially AI) take over the role. Because obviously no one could ever do it better than him. So as much as we all have adored this franchise for multiple decades, I think it’s time we start wrapping things up. Obviously, there’s probably no ending that will satisfy all the fans but regardless they need to put a nice, neat little bow on things & they need to do it before it’s too late. Hopefully, they make it an ending that will leave at least the majority of the fans feeling content & happy.
