Hello, Newman. So this episode concerns jerry telling george to flush the toilet to “exercise the gaskets” while he’s away but is this actually necessary for a toilet that’s being used? Well, we consulted with the experts in the field & here’s what they had to say on this important subject.

So as it turns out, it actually is necessary. You see, when toilets don’t get flushed regularly, mineral deposits & stains being to thrive & it can leave an unsightly ring around the toilet. It can also leave unsightly rings when you stop flushing. It can also attract bacteria which can lead to the homeowner developing afflictions. The water in the p-trap can start to evaporate & this may cause a stench to linger throughout the bathroom. Finally, debris & waste left in the pipes can cause the pipes to get clogged up so it is imperative to flush the toiler periodically.

I mean obviously this was just busywork he gave george to make him forget about the whole mail situation but regardless he was spot on about just how important it is to flush the toilet on a regular basis. I couldn’t find anything about it being imperative to “exercise the gaskets” so it definitely seems like he was just pulling out of this ass. But nevertheless, he was right that the toilets do require a periodic flushing to keep them working properly henceforth.
