Hello, Newman. At long last, we come to the final episode. I’m sure it needs no introduction to the hardcore fans out there so I’ll just jump right in. After having to land in Latham, the core four end up arrested for a crime they failed to report but is there actually such a law on the books in the state of Massachusetts (or anywhere, for that matter)? We consulted with the experts & here’s what they were able to uncover.

So incidentally, when the episode first premiered, no such law actually existed in the spirit of america. However, in the years to follow, they have since adopted something of a good samaritan law although it doesn’t say anything about helping someone who is a victim of a crime. What it does is encourage people who witness an overdoes to call for medical attention (& even protects the person who OD’d from being arrested). Of course, I highly doubt anyone’s ever gotten arrested for defying said law, especially considering the level of difficulty that accompanies enforcing such a law. But the point is just like on seinfeld, the state of MA really is trying to get you to look out for your fellow man. In fact, as it turns out, every single state in the union currently has some form of a good samaritan law on the books, even the district of columbia.

Incidentally, before we wrap up, it might interest you to know Larry himself did actually return to write the finale so if you didn’t like it, you know who to blame. This in turn freed up Jerry to write the stand-up routine you see him deliver in that final scene in prison. It attracted an audience of about 76 million, the third-most watched finale in american history (right behind cheers & mash). To this day, it remains one of the most popular & we remain grateful for having experienced the greatest sitcom of all time.

Thank you guys so much for coming on this journey with me. Obviously, none of this means anything if not for you, the readers, so just know how I much appreciate you. So that’s about all I had for you guys today but thank you so much for reading. Have a great week & I will see you back here next week for tv insights & beyond (or whatever just happens to pop into my brain at any given moment of the day). Until then, this is the x factor signing off.
