Seinfeld Declassified Episode 64: Does NYC have a real peurto rican day parade?
Hello, Newman. As we barrel towards the series finale, we come to yet another classic, the puerto rican day parade. As you all know, the episode revolves around the gang trying to get home after getting stuck in parade traffic but is there an actual peurto rican day parade in nyc? Well, we consulted with our best man & here’s what he found out.
So it turns out there actually is an annual peurto rican day parade & there has been as far back as 1958, replacing the hispanic day (which actually seems more inclusive but whatever). Interestingly enough, they did attempt to shoot on location in nyc but found it too difficult due to the intrustion of many seinfeld fans. So they just ended up using a studio backlot instead. But in any case, this episode proved to be one for the ages, even if it did trigger some peurto ricans who apparently can’t take a joke. So, listen, thanks for reading, have a great week & I will see you back here next week for the 65th & final episode of Seinfeld Declassified. Until then, this is the x factor signing off.
