Hello, Newman. So one of the most classic episodes follows can’t-stand-ya as he tries to preserve his high score on the legendary frogger machine after mario’s pizza closes down. But is it actually possible to keep the arcade machine powered on even when it’s not being plugged in? Would george’s plan actually work in real life? Well, we sat down with the foremost authority on the subject & here is what he had to say about the legacy of the frogger machine.

So it turns out jerry was right. When you unplug the machine, it will erase the scores. However, in the event that an arcade machine is ever unplugged, there is a backup battery which should kick in automatically. It’s not entirely clear what slippery pete was supposed to do to preserve the power but presumably he was attaching it to some sort of battery/reserve power (he even mentions wanting to steal one as part of the plan). Supposedly, these can last at least three years without needing to be replaced so it seems his scheme may have worked after all (if it hadn’t been for that truck, of course).

But fun fact: can’t-stand-ya did all his own stunts for that iconic real-life frogger scene & the background music during that scene are the actual sound effects from the game itself. That attention to detail & complete dedication to his craft is just one of the many things that make this series so brilliant & iconic. It’s also one of the few episodes where there’s no k man story as it had to get cut for time but it was going to be about him trying to court the bathroom lady (you can watch the deleted scenes on the dvd or youtube). So that’s about all I had for you guys but thank you so much for reading. Have a great week & I will see you back here next week for a brand new episode of Seinfeld Declassified. Until then, this is the x factor signing off.
