Hello, Newman. So there’s not much mystery behind this one but I simply could not let the festivus episode pass without doing a piece on it. So as you know, one of the subplots revolves around jerry keeping his girlfriend in a certain light to prevent her from looking ugly but is this an actual phenomenon? Well, according to the experts, it is actually possible for lighting to alter a person’s aesthetics.

Depending on the type of lighting, a person can appear as anything from evil to even deformed. Of course, this typically applies more to photos than actually seeing a person out in real life but theoretically the same principles could apply to sitting in a restaurant as well. Of course, the odds of them changing someone’s appearance that dramatically is a bit far-fetched but it does have roots in real-life science. It might also interest you to know the human fund started out as a joke but is now in fact a real charity striving to help the youth of Cleveland make a better life for themselves.
