Seinfeld Declassified Episode 26: Is the fire route story true?

Hey, guys. So we’ve come to another classic episode as the season rolls on. So our story picks up as the k man gets a radio scanner which leads to him compiling a list of the best routes so the firefighters can get there before the whole place is nothing more than a pile of ashes. But does this story have any basis in real life?

Well, yes and no. There is some truth to it. According to reports, one of the writers had a police scanner (for some reason) and used to listen in on conversations with the rest of the crew. This is what inspired the k man’s storyline & they were fortunate enough to be able to shoot those firehouse scenes on location. But as far as someone actually going to the fire station & recommending faster ways to get to their destinations, there does not seem to be any record of that transpiring in real life.

I think the writers were just having a little fun with the police scanner storyline by taking a few liberties here & there. But in any case, you can’t argue with the result as it proved to be one of the most amusing scenes we’ve gotten. So that’s about all I have for you guys today but thank you so much for reading.
