Here we go again. So our episode follows George can’t-stand-ya as his eye get exposed to grapefruit pulp. Naturally, this leads to a lot of shenanigans and hijinks but it got me thinking: can pulp really cause you to wink involuntarily like that? Well, I did some digging & here is what I was able to uncover in my research.

So here’s a teachable moment: there is actually a rare condition that causes involuntary winking known as blepharospasm. But getting back to the question at hand, it can also be caused by muscle spams, fatigue or excessive use of caffeine. According to my research, however, there is no scientific evidence supporting the claim that pulp can cause you to involuntarily wink at people at the most inopportune times.

Clearly, they were just taking some liberties in an effort to produce a hilarious episode and, in that regard, I think we can all agree on one thing: mission accomplished. So that’s about all I have for you guys today but thank you so much for reading. Have a great weekend & I will see you back here tomorrow for a brand new episode of Seinfeld Declassified. Until then, this is the x factor signing off.
