Seinfeld Declassified Episode 10: was Amy having an affair with Jeffrey?
Hey, guys. Can you believe we’re already in season five now? I certainly can’t. So let’s jump right in here, shall we? So episode 3 catches up with the gang as George has to buy new glasses to replace the ones that were “stolen”. As this is going on, he happens upon what he thinks is jerry’s then-girlfriend Amy making out with his cousin, Jeffrey, but of course the fact that he wasn’t wearing glasses at the time make him an unreliable witness.
So Jerry spends the rest of the episode trying to get to the bottom of it and we never get a definitive answer. So what’s the deal here? Was she really having an affair? Well, I did some digging & here’s what I found. As it turns out, there was actually a scene they shot where it’s revealed she was cheating on him with his cousin but, since it’s deleted, it is not technically considered to be canon.
So what does canon have to say about this? Well, unfortunately not much. It is later revealed George can’t see anything without his glasses, even when he squints, as he mistook Amy and Jeffrey necking for a cop petting her horse. However, this does not necessarily mean they weren’t having an affair. But if we’re going on logic and facts, it seems highly unlikely. Based on urban population density in NYC alone, the odds of those two meeting (let alone dating) are slim to none. But if you choose to believe the deleted scene, that’s totally your choice.
